Seven armed men were chased and apprehended after robbing a clothing store in Montana on Tuesday afternoon.
Sinoville police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk said the robbers were spotted by a security guard while they were loading stolen items into their vehicle.
“He immediately alerted police and other guards. The seven robbers tried to use their vehicle to escape but were blocked,” he said.

Van Dyk said the robbers then abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot.
“The suspects started firing shots at the police when they noticed that they were being chased. Some of them tried to hide at Montana hospital but were unsuccessful as police, together with the community, managed to find them,” he said.
All the seven robbers were corned and arrested, thanks to the police and members of the community,” Van Dyk said.
Stolen items and a firearm were recovered.
