NEWSFLASH: Police searching for gunman after fatal Laudium shooting

“One victim succumbed to his injuries in hospital while three others were treated for gunshots wounds.”

The police in Laudium are searching for a gunman who killed one person and injured three others on Sunday evening.

The group was attacked by the unknown gunman in Mocha Street, said police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto.

“One of the victims succumbed to his injuries in hospital while three others were treated for gunshots wounds,” said Moloto.

“The shooting happened shortly after 18:00.”

Moloto could not confirm rumours that the incident was related to residents in the area being “fed up” with drugs and drug dealing.

“The motive behind the shooting is still unknown at this stage,” he said.

A case of murder and attempted murder was opened at the Laudium police station.

Anyone with more information is urged to contact the station on 012-374 9846/7.
