Racist WhatsApp message fake – DA

The message, purportedly between Gauteng MPL Fred Nel and the DA deputy chief whip in Tshwane Crezane Bosch, was written on 30 November after the EFF and ANC voted against the suspension of Tshwane metro city manager Moeketsi Mosola in council.

The members of the DA implicated in a k-worded WhatsApp message say that the text was fabricated.

The message, in English and Afrikaans, purportedly between Gauteng MPL Fred Nel and the DA deputy chief whip in Tshwane Crezane Bosch, was written on 30 November after the EFF and ANC voted against the suspension of Tshwane metro city manager Moeketsi Mosola in council.

DA provincial chairperson Mike Moriarty said as a demonstration of their desire to have their innocence proven, Nel and Bosch had voluntarily asked that their devices be subjected to a forensic investigation.

The exchange between Fred Nel and Crezane Bosch thus goes:

Crezane: “We need to reclaim the region. She is the stumbling block”

Nel: “I know and I promised you that we will take it back. We just have to get rid of this piece of sh#%t Nkele”

“Abel is nothing we will deal with him tjoptjop”.

Crezane: “Ja. Ek is nie bang vir hom nie”

Moriarty said the pair had sworn that this text was fabricated.

“It is clear that the desperate ANC wants to peddle lies that have no basis, in an attempt to muddy the waters in Tshwane.”

“Any form of racism, on any platform, goes against the DA’s values of Freedom, Fairness, Opportunity and Diversity, and what we stand for as Public Representatives.”

He said they would not allow racism, in any form, to undermine the project of nation-building and reconciliation “that our nation committed to in 1994”.

“Indeed, if the WhatsApp screen grabs are proven to be fake, it then implies a further investigation as to who would be responsible will ensue.”

He added that it was perplexing that the “failing ANC” continued to try to obstruct the great work that Mayor Solly Msimanga and his team were doing in Tshwane.

In a briefing on Monday 3 December, ANC Tshwane chairperson Kgosi Maepa said the WhatsApp messages were concerning and proved a point his party made many times, that “the DA is deeply racist and has no regard for a non-racial society we seek to build.”

“We have made the point many times at regional, provincial and national levels that the DA is deeply racist and it is not a party or home for Blacks in general and Africans in particular.”

“In fact, the DA is racist and fascist in character, content, form, shape and size.”

He warned Tshwane residents to be careful of the DA and its tendency to hoodwink innocent voters to vote for its racist policies unaware that it was indirectly advancing racism and separate development in a democratic state.

Maepa also announced that they (ANC) would open a case against the mayor for contravening the municipal structures act with regards to Glad Africa contract.

Moriarty rubbished the claim that ANC was pivotal in exposing the irregularities in the Glad Africa deal.

“This is not true, in fact, they are “mafikizolos” because they only took action after Solly Msimanga pursued allegations made by a whistle-blower,” said Moriarty.
