Embattled city manager Moeketsi Mosola is now in the ANC crosshairs.
The ANC in the council has filed an urgent motion to suspend Mosola immediately.
And the local party leader Kgosi Maepa called on other political parties that were against corruption in the city to support his party’s motion to remove Mosola to be tabled in council today.

In a briefing held before the council sitting, Maepa said if the DA and EFF truly wanted to deal with corruption they would support the motion.
Maepa said they wanted the vote to be by open ballot so everybody would see who was against corruption.

The city manager has been mired in corruption allegations related to the awarding of a multibillion-rand tender to engineering consultancy Glad Africa.
The ANC further tightened the screws on Tshwane mayor Solly Msimanaga by sending him a lawyer’s letter demanding he takes the Glad Africa appointment and corruption on judicial review within seven days.
“If he fails to do so, the ANC will approach the High Court to grant it an order in this regard.”
He said the letter had been sent to the MEC of CoGTA in Gauteng, Director General of Treasury and Minister of Finance for consideration and appropriate action.
Yesterday, Msimanaga said they would oppose the city manager’s court bid to interdict the report that was to be tabled in council today.

Maepa said they were concerned about unending battles between the city manager and mayor.
“The city is failing to resolve the service delivery challenges due to among other things, a rift between the city manager and [his] political leadership.
“Service delivery has simply come to a halt due to allegations and counter allegations of corruption and maladministration,” said Maepa.
