Crawford College Pretoria continues its winning streak in debating

This victory in verbal jousting led to the debaters representing Gauteng at the National Conference.

Crawford College Pretoria is proud to announce the outstanding achievement of their senior debating team who were declared the National Champions at SA Science Agency Debating Competition held from 1 to 3 October in Pretoria.

The five young debaters from Crawford College Pretoria were awarded the honour of being Gauteng’s champions in August this year, where they beat 11 other high schools from the region.

This victory in verbal jousting led to the debaters representing Gauteng at the National Conference.

At the National Conference, the participants were expected to debate the issue of whether investing in mega-science projects, such as the SKA, is viable for a developing nation such as South Africa.

The team engaged debaters from the 8 winning provincial teams from South Africa, in what was described as one of the most highly competitive national debates.

The Crawford College Pretoria team took first prize and were awarded the title of National Champions.

The students described the experience as an amazing and unforgettable one. Gauteng can be proud of these five young ambassadors.
