SCHOOL: Tyger Valley College officially opened their new hockey Astro

The Tyger Valley College Girls won 2-0 but it was the spirit of hockey that really won the day.

Tyger Valley College officially opened its brand new hockey Astro on Saturday 29 September 2018.

It was a day filled with hockey-fun as the Tyger Valley College learners were treated to training sessions with Top Gauteng players as well as the first ever hockey match on the field between Tyger Valley College First Team Girls and St Mary’s DSG. The Tyger Valley College Girls won 2-0 but it was the spirit of hockey that really won the day.

ADvTECH Schools Division CEO Mike Aitken, Tyger Valley College 1st Team Captain, Nqobile Sigudla and Huggins Mapunda in Grade 2 cut the ribbon for the official opening.

The school was then treated to an exhibition game between North and South Gauteng Men’s teams.
