SCHOOL: Sutherland High School rugby stars

Sutherland High School is very proud to have two rising stars in its rugby teams. Kiano Fourie, deputy head boy for 2019, was selected to the Blue Bulls Academy Team in July and has already won two games against Western Province and the Sharks.

Kiano was chosen the Sutherland U17 Sevens player of the tournament ahead of the 800 learners who participated.

Kiano also made the Provincial Blue Bulls team that made it to the finals of the Eldoraigne 7s Tournament.

Later this month, Kiano will travel to the Czech Republic with the U18 Harlequin Rugby team for four international matches against – Czech Republic National U18 Academy Side, Czech Republic National U18 Development Side, Polish National U18 Academy Side and Romanian U18 Club.

Schoolmate Ruan Venter was chosen Sutherland Sevens U16 player of the tournament in August, made the U16 Blue Bulls C team that won the Provincial Inland Tournament with Ruan named man of the match twice.

He was subsequently selected to the Inland Provinces team to tour France in December.
