SCHOOL: Pro-Arte Alphen park’s new principal

During his time there he also undertook five international school tours accompanying the learners to Scotland on an annual basis.

Pro Arte Alphen Park High School wishes to welcome and introduce our new principal Mr Jacques du Rand.

Mr du Rand was officially appointed on 1 June to succeed our recently retired Mr Johann Güldenpfennig.

Mr Du Rand qualified as a teacher via Wits University in 1988 and was appointed mathematics teacher at The Glen High School in 1989.

Subsequently, he was promoted to Head of Department for Mathematics in October 2006. While at The Glen, he coached hurdles, high jump and was hockey umpire for Gauteng North.

During his time there he also undertook five international school tours accompanying the learners to Scotland on an annual basis.

Mr Du Rand started at Pro Arte Alphen Park as deputy principal in August 2015 and the rest is pretty much history.

We have come to know him as a kind, gentle and soft-spoken person.

Mr Du Rand loves to play tennis, travel and has a great love for wildlife and birding.

Welcome Mr du Rand, may your future success inspire great achievements!
