UPDATE: Missing Brooklyn woman’s car found in Soweto

No sign of missing 57-year-old woman.

 

The car of a missing Pretoria woman has been found in Johannesburg, Brooklyn police have confirmed.

Dawn Basdeo (57) was last seen on Friday at her home in Brooklyn when she left to do a blood test at the Little Company of Mary hospital in Groenkloof.

Her silver grey 2007 Mercedes ML 63, with the registration number VZK011GP, was found in Soweto, but she was still missing.

Police spokesperson Captain Colette Weilbach said they were conducting interviews with friends and family as part of their investigation into her disappearance.

“We are appealing to members of the community with any information to come forward,” said Weilbach.

Daughter Diane said she was unaware of the condition of the vehicle when it was found, but said the search for her mother would continue until she was found.

She said the family just wanted to know that their mother was safe.

Basdeo was wearing black flat shoes, blue jeans and a white top with a beige jersey.

She is about 1.55 tall with dark brown eyes and hair.
