SCHOOL: Maragon Olympus student new record holder in F38 discus

She broke the record with four of her six throws.

A grade 7 learner at Maragon Olympus Simoné Kruger, is a dedicated athlete who spends hours training for what she does best.

During the 2017 IWAS World Games at Villa Real San Antonio in Portugal, Kruger broke the Women’s Discus South African and African record for the F38 Classification. The new record was set at 23.48m.

At the 2018 ASA & Combined Events Championships, 13-year-old Kruger once again participated in the discus for women in cold, rainy weather.

With her third throw she threw a distance of 26.07m and won the event with a new South African and African record for the F38 Classification.

She broke the record with four of her six throws.

This distance puts Simoné fifth on the current world rankings for women of the F38 Classification for the 2017/2018 year.

She has the opportunity to participate at the World Junior IWAS Games during July 2018 in Athlone, Ireland.
