The So Perfect team has grown over the past months as evidenced in the lineup of DJ selected to play at the events.

A group of young Pretorians is making Sundays cool again hosting music concerts at the African Beer Emporium.

The young “fun-makers”, including former UP students, host So Perfect at the emporium at 012Central’s arty and youthful precinct every monthly to give local deejays an opportunity to play at their events in the east and central Pretoria.

Local Jarren van Eeden said the events were hosted by his production company Swade Shift in collaboration with “popular Johannesburg based Sunday Funk”.

Van Eeden said So Perfect was born out of the necessity to promote local underground music ranging from electro to hip-hop.

“Both companies are passionate about creating a space for the enjoyment of underground music, can grow to expose the Pretoria market to music they would not normally be exposed to,” he said.

He said the So Perfect team had grown over the past months as evidenced in the lineup of DJs selected to play at the events.

“Most are from Pretoria and they gain popularity playing at these events,” he said adding Dogstarr, Illing, Chunda Munki, Vimo, Jon Casey and Keren Onay had performed at the first So Perfect.

“We want to show that Pretoria is a hot spot for amazing and talented producers, musicians and DJs, and we hope we will be able to bring this culture to the rest of the country soon.”

He said that So Perfect’s most popular venues for hosting events were Arcade Empire, Tennessee and BLOM.
