Bronkhorstspruit security guard feared drowned

The search operation entered day three on Monday.

Bronkhorstspruit police and community have been searching since Saturday for a security guard who fell into a river.

One of the members of the search operation told Rekord on Monday that the guard was on his way home from work when he fell into a river.

“It is believed that he slipped into the river around 06:00, during the time of the flash floods. The divers have been working since Saturday, with no luck. Tomorrow (Tuesday) we will get a dog unit to help us search,” he said.

Police spokesperson Constable Phongo said a missing person case was opened.
