March against crime, drugs and human trafficking in Sunnyside

The march themed will start at Jubilee Park on corner Troye and Kotze streets at 9:00.

Gauteng MEC for community safety Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane will lead a march against crime, drugs and human trafficking in Sunnyside on Saturday morning.

The MEC said he would be joined by ward 81 councillor Godfrey Mulaudzi on the campaign.

“I will lead a peaceful community march in Sunnyside, Pretoria to raise awareness about crime, drugs and human trafficking, as well as the important role of communities in the fight against crime,” Nkosi-Malobane said.

The march is themed Count me in: together moving a non-­violent South Africa forward would start at Jubilee Park on corner Troye and Kotze streets at 9:00.

The MEC said this coincided with the 16 days of activism for no violence against women and children.

She said officials from the Sunnyside police station, which was listed as one of the busiest police stations in the country according to the 2017 crime stats, would also participate in the march.
