The Khoisan community will form part of minority groups that will launch a political party next year under the Toekomsvonk banner.
Toekomsvonk organiser Wessel Basson said the big three political parties were failing to focus on the needs of the minority groups in South Africa.
“What we are currently seeing with politicians now is incitement of hatred and violence and no one is holding them accountable,” said Basson.
“Leaders such as Julius Malema and Andile Mngxitama continue to rattle irresponsible statements that stirs hatred towards the white minority.”
The Khoisan community had gathered at the Union Buildings on Friday to protest for their recognition as the indigenous people of South Africa.

Basson said there was no meaningful action taken by government to acknowledge the Khoisan community as the first settlers of this land.
“That’s why we have decided to launch a party next year February to address concerns of the minority groups in this country.”
He said the Khoisan community would also be a part of the political formation.
The Congress of the People’s (Cope) leader Mosiua Lekota, who was also present at the march on Friday, emphasised the need for acknowledgement of the Khoi people.

“They feel that their rights have not been recognised. As a matter of fact, we held a view when we were still in government that something should be done to acknowledge them as the indigenous people of this land.”
Lekota said the Khoi community will have to be engaged on what they specifically want as a symbol of appreciation.
“They have to be engaged on that. What I know is that among other things they want is the inclusion of their language as an official language.”
