March to hand over memorandum at Silverton police

The memorandum outlines the issue of drugs and lawlessness in Nellmapius.

Concerned residents from Mamelodi have gathered to hand over a memorandum to the police.

Ward councillor, Thabo Ntlatheng said himself, along with residents of the area will walk to the Silverton police on Saturday around 09:48.

“We have already started gathering at the Multipurpose Centre library in Nellmapius at 08:00,” he said.

He said the memorandum outlines the issue of drugs and lawlessness in Nellmapius.

“The amount of drugs and dealers have increased beyond proportion,” he said.

“Drugs kill our children and has a negative impact on our society. We need to put a stop to this.”

Metro police were on the scene to monitor the situation.
