A Pretoria advocate allegedly beat a woman with a bottle and kicked her after she had fallen to the ground.
The man will appear in the Pretoria magistrate’s court on a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on Monday.

“According to reports, the victim (29), who resides in Sunnyside, was allegedly assaulted following an altercation after she had reportedly asked for a cigarette lighter from the suspect,” Sunnyside police spokesperson Captain Daniel Mavimbela said.
Mavimbela said the police had called an ambulance for the woman after she arrived at the police station with visible injuries to the head.
He added that although the suspect was unknown to the victim, the Sunnyside police were able to establish his identity.
