A 55-year-old man who was shot in the head during a house robbery last week in Ashlea Gardens has been discharged from the hospital.

He was shot after he had pressed the panic button.

On Wednesday, Coetzee’s son-in-law, David Ross told Rekord that the family was still traumatised.

“On behalf of the family, thank you so much for taking such an interest in this case. My father-in-law was released from the hospital yesterday and looks remarkable, considering what he’s been through. He will be receiving counselling though as the trauma has hit him hard,” Ross said.

Brooklyn police earlier said the robbers fled with a television.

“No arrests have been made yet. A case of attempted murder is being investigated,” police said.
