He said Gauteng economic affairs and agriculture MEC Lebogang Maile was host of the approximately 4 000 revellers expected.

“The festival is interactive. We are having information-sharing sessions with a focus on products and services from agricultural machinery, livestock, poultry, input suppliers, biotechnology, agro-processors, food, animal abattoir, manufacturers, food service industries, and a cross-section of related institutions and organisations in the education and financial sectors will benefit from this dynamic new festival,” said Buso.

“Specially-prepared proudly South African menus by a variety of local food vendors and celebrity chefs are on offer to tantalise the taste-buds that will awaken your senses to an outstanding African cuisine and a wonderland for kids to play will make the two-day event ideal for the entire family,” said Buso.

He also said that farmers, township entrepreneurs and individuals from the banking and retail sectors were participating in the festival.

“The festival affords farmers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders a platform to share knowledge about their craft and showcase the latest farming technology. The idea behind this is for all these sectors in the province to converge into one space to discuss modernisation, transformation, growth of agro-processing or food manufacturing and services,” said Boso.

Attendees will get an opportunity to enjoy numerous gastronomic presentations by local celebrity chefs.

“This festival aims to appeal to a broad range of attendees… we are talking farmers, entrepreneurs, foodies, beer and champagne connoisseurs.

“Visitors can anticipate an unrivalled beer, champagne, whiskey and wine lounge showcase, all under one roof brought to you by the department of agriculture and rural development,” Buso said.
