Six nabbed for drugs in CBD

“Report all criminal so we can make an arrest and prevent crime.”

Six men were arrested for drug possession in the Pretoria CBD on Tuesday.

Pretoria Central police spokesperson Sergeant Tsietsi Lamola said the men between the ages of 23 and 43 were arrested for possession and use of drugs.

“One suspect who is a 26-year-old man was arrested for drug dealing. We received a tip off from community members about drug dealing in the CBD and Marabastad,” said Lamola.

“The suspects are expected to appear before Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon in this week.”

A 23-year-old man was also arrested on Tuesday for burglary after he allegedly broke into a café.

“According to the information available at this stage, it is alleged that a café was broken into in the early hours of Tuesday 18 April. A case of business burglary is under investigation and the suspect is due to make his first court appearance soon,” said Lamola.

He urged the public to report all criminal activity to the police.

“We appeal to our community members to work with us in terms of giving information that can be used to prevent crime and the arrest of the suspects,” Lamola said.
