Friday music madness in the east

The Cover Ups got people on their feet at the Barnyard Theatre.

Pretoria residents were entertained with song and dance when The Cover Ups performed at the Barnyard theatre’s musiekskuur on Friday evening.

The band, from Johannesburg, has gained popularity for putting a youthful twist on classic cover songs.

Vocalist and guitarist Simeon Hamman delighted the packed audience with classic songs like To love somebody by the Bee Gees.

Hamman is the son of Afrikaans singer, Sonja Herholdt.

Keyboard player Khutso Makokoropo and drummer Wian Joubert added perfectly to the youthful feel of the evening.

The crowd quickly joined in with the jovial atmosphere as they clapped their hands, sang along to the songs and even grabbed their partners to take a turn on the dance floor.
