Msimanga decries road accidents

“It is with great sadness that we had to receive the news of an accident that claimed 16 lives on the N1 freeway near Hammanskraal over the weekend.”

Tshwane mayor Solly Msimanga has decried the number of people who lost their lives on the roads over the festive season.

Msimanga offered his condolences to the families of the deceased.

“We would like to extend our sincere condolences to all the families around Tshwane and throughout the country who have lost their loved ones during the holidays,” said Msimanga.

“May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get through the days ahead and may the souls of the dearly departed rest in peace.”

Sixteen people died in Hammanskraal over the weekend when a taxi collided with a bakkie.

“It is with great sadness that we had to receive the news of an accident that claimed 16 lives on the N1 freeway near Hammanskraal over the weekend,” said Msimanga.

“This accident has been declared by the Tshwane metro police and the Tshwane emergency services to be the most major accident that claimed the most lives on the roads of Tshwane during the past festive season.”
