NEWSFLASH: Tiger roams Pretoria east streets

It was not immediately clear how the tiger got out of the enclosure.

A tiger roaming the streets in the east of Pretoria left residents agape on Friday morning.

They were shocked to spot the animal near the fence of The Meadows estate around 07:00.

It later emerged that the tiger came from The Farm Inn in Silverlakes.

The Farm Inn owner Pedro Michaletos said an investigation had been launched to ascertain how the tiger got out of its enclosure.

“I did not realise that my tiger was outside. I only became aware of this when photos of my wandering cat was put on Facebook.”

Michaletos said the tiger was back in its enclosure at The Farm Inn, this is after workers darted the tiger and took it back safely.
