Locals urged to support local economy through Hazel Food Market

Every Saturday local residents converge on the Hazel Food Market to support emerging entrepreneurs.

Local residents are urged to visit the Hazel Food Market every Saturday at the Greenlyn Village Centre in Pretoria to help support emerging entrepreneurs.

The Greenlyn Village’s social media and publicity manager, Jacqui Rossouw said the market depends on the support of local residents to succeed.

“Every Saturday, more than 70 stalls are set up and sell food. Really great food,” Jacqui said.

The market is open every Saturday from 08:00 to 14:00 in Menlo Park, in the heart of Pretoria’s old East.

“We are located on Thomas Edison Street in the Greenlyn Village Centre. There are benches scattered in the centre where you can relax with a cappuccino, while children play on the jungle gym and jumping castle,” she said.

According to Jacqui, the aim of the Hazel Food Market is to bring residents of Pretoria fresh products straight from the producer at a convenient authentic food market.

“Pull up a chair. Take a taste. Come join us. Life is so endlessly delicious,” she said.
