Colour comes to Centurion

Many draped in rainbows of colour as Centurion came alight to the International Colour Run festival at SuperSport Park on Saturday morning.

Colours flew through the air and on to participants as friends and families young and old took part in the international Colour Run, held at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Saturday morning.

Some walked, some strolled and some ran the entire 5km passing different colour stations, where colour buckets were specially placed by sponsors to drop more colour powder on to participants.

Many participants ran in euphoria through the streets of Centurion, chanting in comradery as they made their way through the 5km stretch.

Residents whose houses were on the designated path of the stretch, where kind enough and provided water for the colour run participants to keep them hydrated from the scotching heat.

Capitec Bank one of the official sponsors launched a campaign where for every Centurion colour run ticket purchased, Capitec Bank, donated R10 from every ticket sold to a local cause.

The Colour Run is an untimed run, as many could walk the journey and simply enjoy it. Through four colour stations, patrons would finish the race surviving a festival of colour throws of colour rainbows and glitter.

A stage with a DJ and entertainment kept all participants in high spirits as they celebrated completing what seemed like a colourful spectacle, to remember.

The Colour Run continues in Mossel Bay, 19 December, Hermanus, 20 December and Plettenberg Bay on 30 December.
