Zuma calls for lifestyle audits

ANC president Jacob Zuma has called for lifestyle audits on all state employees.

ANC president Jacob Zuma sent out a strong anti-corruption message calling for the lifestyle audits on all civil servants.

The ANC wants the security cluster and key civil servants to be rotated between departments as a measure to combat corruption.

The ruling party also challenged the private sector to subject its employees to a lifestyle audit, vetting and disclosure of financial interests.

Speaking at the closing of his party’s policy conference in Midrand on Sunday, Zuma emphasised that “government should conduct lifestyle audits of all employees of state and its related entities”.

“The vetting process should be expedited. There should be a single agency to vet all strategically-placed civil servants, particularly those who reject promotion even when it comes with an improved remuneration package,” he said.
