Moeggesukkel holds Record Food Drive

A Record Food Drive was recently held at Moeggesukkel in Raslouw.

Moeggesukkel in Centurion held a Record Food Drive at the Moeggesukkel premises in Raslouw on Saturday.

Part of the day’s event included its attempt to cover a space of 16m x 17m in groceries, to share with other charities in the area.

A breakfast run was also held in conjunction with the event, where bikers met at Moeggesukkel before the event started and provide a blanket as entry fee.

According to Jacques Papenfus, founder of Moeggesukkel, these drives are held once every three months, each with a unique theme.

“This drive’s theme is Winter and we are collecting food and blankets to keep people warm during this time of the year,” he said.

“So far we have received boxes full of blankets and enough food to feed roughly 1 000 people. I am very impressed with the turnout and the amount of people who have opened their hearts for the occasion.”

The next event at Moeggesukkel will be held in spring. Papenfus said stands/stalls at these events are always free.
