More than 3000 young Christians turned up at the Union Buildings on Friday night to pray.
Dubbed GAP Night, the event was organised by The Way Youth Movement. It focused on what was described as a gap between God and South African citizens.
“We asked God to close the gap,” said co-organiser Janine van Niekerk.
Ten church groups in Pretoria worked hand in hand to arrange the evening.
In the run-up they used social media to highlight their beliefs.
Van Niekerk said the young Christian wanted to make it clear when they stood.
“We put our trust in God and not the government.”
