Jazz concert in aid of Autism

A Jazz concert was recently held at Pretoria High School for Girls in aid of Autism.

Lethabo le Khutso residential home and daily activity unit for adults held a Jazz Concert in aid of Autism on Saturday night.

The concert, held at Pretoria High School for Girls, was aimed at creating awareness and raising funds for Autism.

According to the home’s manager, Anine Fischer, the concert was an initiative of the band Jazzworx. A member of the jazz band has a child with Autism.

“This is the first time since the organisation was founded in 2002 that we have held an event like this and we are very excited,” Fischer said.

“Besides Jazzworx, two other groups will also be performing tonight. The one, Rythmony, is actually the Acapella group of Pretoria School for Girls and the other, A-minere, is from Afrikaans Hoër Seunskool. There will also be Spanish dancers.”

Lethabo le Khutso, situated in Rietondale, is a live-in home for adults with Autism that can house 30 individuals, provding not only vocational therapy, but also stimulation therapy, including occupational therapy.

The home is both a residential and day care facility.
