Alkatrant library in Lynnwood Manor celebrated library week by hosting a talent show on Saturday. Library week is celebrated from 14 to 21 March.
At Saturday’s kick-off the public had an opportunity to showcase their crafts and talent.
“The theme for this year’s celebration is Connect @ your Library. Our main aim is to inform the public about library services like free internet and free Wifi,” library assistant Lydia Khumalo said.
Activities planned for each day of the week include a fun walk, library workers day, kiddies day, authors day, concluding with a craft showcase day.
Registration at the library is free and Khumalo encourages the public to register. She said all they needed for registration were identity documents and proof of residential address.
The library business hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 16:50 and on Saturdays from 08:00 to 12:50.
