Athletes run to support cancer patients

Thousands of athletes took part in the 2015 Pretoria Bobbies Marathon.

Over 7 000 athletes gathered at Wonderboom Junction Shopping Mall to take part in the 2015 Pretoria Bobbies Marathon ‘3-in-1 run and walk’ annual event on Saturday morning.

Athletes were set off in stages. The 21km race at got underway at 05:30, the 10km at 05:40 and the 5km at 05:50.

Lots of medals and give-aways were handed out to athletes. There was also a supervised play area for children and specials and promotions on offer by the shops in the centre.

PinkDrive was the selected beneficiary for proceeds from this year’s races, which was the third year the event was hosted.

Pinkdrive is a non-profit organisation that focuses on the prevention of breast cancer, testicular and prostate cancer.
