Children celebrate Valentine’s Day

More than 200 children gathered at the Whiz Kidz Academy in Sunnyside to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Friday.

Valentine’s Day came early to more than 200 children at the Whiz Kidz Academy in Sunnyside on Friday.

Children at the academy celebrated the day of love a day earlier as they would not be at school on Valentine’s Day.

The day is celebrated by millions across the world by showing love to their loved ones.

To get parents into the spirit of things, the school gave them chocolate when they dropped off their children in the morning.

For the children it was a day of fun, play and delicious food.

Principal Saartjie Viljoen said the idea was to teach children to love one another and to spread love to other people.

All 123 classes at the school made Valentine’s Day cards.
