Pub raises funds for charity

Jock Bush Pub raises funds for a charity organisation in Capital Park.

Jock Bush Pub held a Potjiekos competition to raise funds for Huis Quanessa on Saturday.

The competitors entered in teams of two to four members per team and cooked a potjie of their own choice from 13:00 until 16:30.

Huis Quanessa is a non-profit organisation in Capital Park which takes care of disabled children of ages.

Lune van Staden from Jack Bush Pub said four members of Huis Quanessa were the judges of the day and they would decide, based on the set of rules, which potjie got first prize, second and third.

The Potjiekos were sold at R30 a plate and all proceeds was awarded to the organisation.

“This is not a once off event, we are planning to raise funds for the organisation quarterly,” said Van Staden.
