Children celebrate Christmas

Wolmer Gemeenskapsprojek put smiles on children's faces.

The children of the Wolmer Gemeenskapsprojek celebrated Christmas on Saturday in Pretoria North.

Organiser of the event, Cindy Marais said this is the fifth year the Christmas party for the children took place.

The Wolmer Gemeenskapsprojek is one leg of Tshwane North Outreach which is a registered non-profit organisation. The other leg is called the Motswedi Wa Learato (Fountain of Love).

The Wolmer Gemeenskapsprojek has been operating in the low cost housing area since 1996. It was established to alleviate the dire need of the residents in this area, as well as the many social problems experienced there.

Marais said she felt the need to give back to the community and that there is no better feeling than giving.

The day was loaded with activities such as face painting, games, eating ice cream and cake and receiving presents.
