Residents voice their opinions about abuse

Residents talk about violence against women and children.

As millions of people gear up worldwide to observe the 16 Days of Activism campaign for no violence against women and children, Rekord spoke to residents in Sunnyside and the city centre to gauge their knowledge of the campaign and their views about abuse in society.

The annual campaign from 25 November to 10 December seeks to raise awareness about the negative impact violence has on women, children and society.

South Africans observe this year’s campaign under the theme Count Me In. Together moving a non-violent South Africa forward.
