A scary day at the zoo

Boo at the Zoo featuring the horror house and activities for the whole family in celebration of Halloween.

The National Zoological Gardens of South Africa hosted a Halloween celebration on Saturday.

The mini-festival featured a traditional ghost house, familiy activities and some interaction with animals.

“It was all about fun with an educational and spooky edge to it,” said, the zoo spokesperson, Craig Allenby.

He said Halloween is an excuse to carve some creepy-looking faces on pumpkins, brave a ghost house and learn more about some of the scarier species in the natural kingdom.

Many visitors enjoyed the activities and several children cried by the time they got out of the ghost house.
