Fourth Ghana Fest unites communities

The Ghana Fest was a success.

On Sunday afternoon the Ghanaian community hosted their annual Ghana Fest at Magnolia Dal. This was the fourth Ghana Fest hosted by the community in South Africa.

The reason why they hosted this event was to showcase the Ghana culture to the people of South Africa. Mavis Anim, of the organising committee, said that they believe culture unites people and the goal is to share the Ghana culture with the people of South Africa.

Anim said the event was not only to unite the people from Ghana but also Africans in general. The day was sponsored by Old Mutual, Anglo Gold and Camac.

They displayed the culture of Ghana in different ways, such as traditional food, clothing, arts and crafts and the entertainment were bands from Ghana.

Daisy and Donald who were finalists in the South Africa’s Got Talent competition also entertained the crowd.
