School money raising event a hit

Laerskool Tuine had a fund raising event.

Laerskool Tuine, in conjunction with Therons Meat Products in Pretoria West, held a successful money raising event at the school on Saturday.

There were country themed stalls and the Therons’ stall, and all the money raised went towards the school.

Each grade at the school had its own theme representing a different country and parents and teachers cooked cuisines from those countries and sold them.

Theron Meat Products supports a few schools in the west and Laerskool Tuine is one of them.

They support the school through their feeding scheme.

She said they are trying to teach the children that although they may have nothing, they can still give back to others.

Colonel Johan de Villiers, station commander of the Hercules police station, the school principal of Laerskool Tuine, Willie Steyn, a teacher, Ferdinand Naude and Kevin Leon took part in the ice-bucket challenge in support of the J9 foundation. Pieter van der Westhuizen from the J9 Foundation, spoke to the parents and other people present about the ice-bucket challenge.

Izak Davel, Isidingo actor, singer, dancer and model was also present. He also took part in the ice-bucket challenge.with Sonja-Liezel Theron and the Theron’ss general manager, Edwin Smit.
