Breast cancer survivors belly dance

Breast cancer survivors had the opportunity to swing their hips with the Belly Divas group.

Breast cancer survivors were entertained by Sandy and the Belly Divas dance group in Rietfontein on Saturday. The event was organised by the Reach for Recovery Breast Cancer Care group.

The survivors had the opportunity to swing their hips together with the dancers and enjoyed tea and cakes.

According to the chairperson of the Gauteng North Breast Cancer Care group, Annemarie Joubert, the event was attended by breast cancer survivors and she was happy with the turnout.

“During April and May the survivors attended a three day volunteer training course on breast cancer.”

“The volunteers had the opportunity to gain knowledge about breast cancer and also worked through their own experiences of breast cancer,” said Joubert.

The volunteer group for 2014 are called Pink Feet.

On October 23, the Reach for Recovery Breast Cancer Care group will be hosting their general meeting.
