Wonderboom Military members get hands dirty

Madiba inspires Wonderboom Military members to get their hands dirty

The members of SA Army Signal Formation Headquarters came together early on Friday morning to clean up Doornpoort Primary School to celebrate Nelson Mandela day. The Wonderboom military unit did not stop there. It also played its part to improve the quality of the children’s lives while at school.

Doornpoort Primary School consists of 35 staff members and 650 pupils between the age of five and 14. The children come from middle -to low-income households. The school has large grounds with few sporting and recreational facilities for the children. SA Signal Formation sought to make amends in this regard by marking out soccer-field lines and donating sporting equipment to the school.

With industrious hands, the Wonderboom military members picked up trash and papers — and did some light gardening. They also donated clothing and shoes to the school.
