A night filled with nectar of the gods

Nothing tops spending a night out with good friends and enjoying a glass filled to the brim with the nectar of the gods.

A little bit of Rome, enchanting surroundings and good company is all you need for a perfect gourmet evening.

Wine enthusiasts, including Kurt Darren, gathered at Casa Toscana in Lynnwood Manor on Thursday evening to enjoy a variety of the rich and flavour-filled Val de Vie wines from Paarl in the Western Cape.

The wine selections were accompanied by a five course meal that tantalized the taste buds.

Val de Vie GVC was followed by seared chicken fillet strips smothered in a citrus glace set upon a bed of green and the Val de Vie Ryk Neethling Rhone bled was served with Springbuck carpaccio with parmesan shavings and a sour cherry sauce.

Not only could wine lovers enjoy the blends from Rome but their pallets were enticed by Kurt Darren’s Kaptein Rhone Blend.

The last three meals of the evening included beef fillet topped with a creamy Dijon mustard royalle sauce with potato pure, roast leg of lamb with a Moroccan infused jus served with pomme croquettes and balsamic vinegar.

The evening ended with a mouth-watering crusted Vanilla infused crème brûlée.
