Prince dies aged 57
Legendary musician found dead in home.
The artist known as Prince has died. He was 57.
Prince, born Prince Rogers Nelson, was a legendary singer, songwriter and performer, best known for the classic hit “Purple Rain”, for which he won an Oscar.
His publicist Yvette Noel-Schure confirmed his passing.
“It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57,” she said.
The cause of his death is not known at this time.
Prince ‘s death follows that of David Bowie and Mötorhead lead-singer Lemmy Kilmister, both of whom died in 2016.
