Mermaid show at Atterbury Theatre

Filled with magic and surprise, this show delighted fairy-tale enthusiasts as well as those who took their first trip down into the deep blue sea.

ACT Studios brought the Little Mermaid show to Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria on Sunday evening.

The show performed by children and is based on the classic story of The Little Mermaid. The show kicked off on Sunday and is expected to close on Thursday.

Featuring delightful songs and fascinating characters, The Littlest Mermaid show provided the perfect escape from the dreary winter nights for the whole family.

Filled with magic and surprise, this show delighted fairy-tale enthusiasts as well as those who took their first trip plunge into the deep blue sea.

Through dramatic use of lights, sound and interaction with the characters on stage, the audience found themselves thrown into an enchanted world surrounded by a small army of sea creatures, and a mermaid in search of her true love.

ACT Studios principal Deborah Nel said the show offered children the opportunity to be part of a professional production.

“Their hard work has paid off and you are about to the royally entertained by a group of highly talented and dedicated youngsters. We have loved working with them.”

She said a team of herself, “genius Michael Anderson and highly the creative Wildre van Deventer wrote some delightful original songs to add life and excitement to the show”.
