New developments at Abbotts College

A bright year lies ahead for Abbotts College.

New campus, new grades and a new year, Abbotts College Centurion faces new challenges at the start of 2019.

The new grade 8 to 9 classes have brought excitement for the school and the senior students. The grade 8 class of 2019 at this campus is filled with a range of personalities and desires and every grade 8 learner fits perfectly into the Abbotts family and are all enthusiastic to tackle the year in their new high school.

Matric student Alan Mucavel started his journey at Abbotts in 2018. He chose Abbotts because he knew the teachers would assist him with a new focus on his studies towards his dream of studying abroad and becoming an engineer. Another matric student Brian Mlimi appreciates the individual attention given to an Abbotts student. He wants to pursue a career in architecture. He receives great inspiration from his father who followed a similar path. Thabang Adam, another amazing matric student, chose Abbotts to improve his results, he feels more motivated and confident about his studies. Thabang’s passion for music gives him direction to study sound engineering.

Not only is there a great focus on full-time students, but part-timers at Abbotts College express that they feel part of the school just like any other student. Nthabisend Makgonye, chose Abbotts College to upgrade her matric results as she wants to study law. Her student life at Abbotts College Centurion allows her to be free and expressive.

Kajol Pillay and Mxolisi Kgoma both chose Abbotts to improve their matric results. Kajol mentions that this campus is quite a distance for her to travel but she feels like its worth it as her future is important to her and the school. Kajol has two career paths that she is still undecided on, medicine and computer engineering. Mxolisi says he feels welcomed and free at the new campus.

Sanet van Rensburg, principal of Abbotts College Centurion says her goal for 2019 is to improve the lives of more students through the Abbotts way of life.
