GALLERY: First-ever unicorn party held at Irene Village mall

“Ideally, we want to get to a point where it is either monthly or bi-monthly."

Hundreds of parents, uncles and aunts along with their children, nieces and nephews flocked to the Born to be a Unicorn party held at the Irene Village mall on Saturday.

“It is a unique first-time event aimed at doing something unique for children,” the mall’s marketing manager Shiley McPherson, said.

Explaining why the mall opted to embrace and theme the party around unicorns, McPherson said they were “relevant” to children.

“We thought why not give them something fun to do at the weekend?” she added.

McPherson said the mall was now looking to organise a follow-up due to the response received from attendees.

“Due to the success, we are looking to do it quite regularly.”

However, McPherson said the next event would have a different theme.

“We want to keep it in a model of relevance.”

She said that the parties would be themed according to what was relevant to children at the time of the event.

“Ideally, we want to get to a point where it is either monthly or bi-monthly,” McPherson said.

When the hunger pangs struck during and after the event, attendees headed over to the nearby Piza e Vino restaurant for a scrumptious lunch.
