GALLERY: Pta talents showcased at exclusive art exhibition

Ivory Manor is famous for their exciting art exhibitions year-on-year.

An annual exhibition of the work of some of Pretoria’s most respected artists is taking place from 26 September – 30 September.

The venue is the elite Ivory Manor Boutique Hotel.

Guests from all over are attending to admire the work of big names in the local art scene, such as James Harris, Joyce Carreira and Adriaan Boshoff Sr.

Guests could enjoy a fine selection of refreshments while appreciating the exquisite talents and works Pretoria has to offer.

This comes with wine and canapés served with soothing, live music in the background.

A distinct feature of the Ivory Manor Boutique Hotel art exhibition is an emphasis on not only the business of art but also its deeper meaning as an expression of life and surroundings.

The Ivory Manor Boutique Hotel art exhibition aims to support small businesses.

Its Facebook page says: “Far too many of us tend to have a ‘what’s in it for me?’ outlook on life. However, when you visit an art exhibition, you’re really supporting small businesses. See each artist and his/her studio as a small business. You don’t even need to buy for yourself – tell a friend or recommend art for your business.”

Art exhibitions like this one also aim to teach young aspiring artists more about the history of their work.

People are enabled to understand more about were an artist’s inspiration comes from.

Many people might find that searching for the meaning behind some of the most eccentric artworks, could be quite meditating.

“Visiting art galleries often restore a great sense of calm and wholeness, something many people do not realise they are in need of.”

The art exhibition also aims to promote each individual’s own sense of creativity.

“If you want to unleash your own creative juices, visit an art gallery. It might feel like osmosis,” says the hotel.

“Being around art and in the company of creative people makes you more creative.”

People attending this exciting event give a voice to lesser-known South African artists still carving their way in the industry.

These are people whose talent may not be seen anywhere else.
