Crawford College Pretoria learners treated a large, appreciative crowd to stunning musical performances at the weekend.
The event was the 17th annual concerto festival was held at the University of Pretoria on Sunday.
The learners played a variety of classical compositions of Bach, Gluck and Shostakovich.
Concert conductor Eric Roycroft said the learners had performed wonderfully, even though one of them was only 14 years old.

One of the soloists Karabo Rabaloi said she had been singing since the age of three.
Organiser Marius du Plessis said although the future of this regular concert was in the balance as the orchestra was said to be closing down, the quality of the concerts had actually improved.
“You know with evolution things get better,” he said.
He said the concert provided learners with the chance to perform with an orchestra.
“Not many musicians ever get a chance to perform with an orchestra,” said Du Plessis.
“It also provides them with an opportunity to perform in near-professional circumstances.”

The selection process which the 10 learners went through was “intense”.
“They went through a rigorous selection process where they auditioned in front of an external panel.”
