Pretorians enjoy the ‘happiest’ 5km in the planet

Participants were doused from head to toe with in different colours.

The Colour Run Carnival 2018 at the Pretoria rugby club was the place to be this Saturday.

Participants of the “happiest 5km on the planet” started with white t-shirts and by the time they reached the finish line, they were plastered with different colours.

The runners were doused from head-to-toe in different colours at each kilometre.

The race saw people from all walks of life gather in the name of having fun while keeping healthy.

The event was founded in 2012 with the aim of promoting healthy living by bringing together the community.

It continues to grow every year and attracts even younger participants.

Little Niel Venter could not hide his excitement before the race.

“I am so happy and cannot wait to be covered in paint,” he said.

Adele Olivier said it was her first colour run and she enjoyed every minute of it.

“The vibe here is cool, the run brings people together in the spirit of ubuntu,” she said.

The race finished off with a live music festival.

“This is my fourth colour run,” said Tafadzwa Pfumojena.

“I love the fun atmosphere and the colour festival at the end.”
