GALLERY: Pta businesswomen networking for success

Networking sessions play an important role in growing one's business.

Like-minded businesswomen came together on Friday for a monthly gathering where they shared their experiences and expertise.

The networking session of the South African Council for businesswomen (SACBW) Pretoria branch was held at Blos Café in Faerie Glen on Friday.

SACBW chairperson Merlyn van der Rheede said such sessions created a vital opportunity for women to mingle and network.

“We encourage entrepreneurs and young people to come join us. We are also looking for young women to mentor and assist.”

Van der Rheede said networking sessions played an important role in growing one’s business.

Former chairwoman of the council Cerita Nagy said that in the past 17 years she had been chair, she had seen a lot of businesses growing.

“We would like to encourage women to get involved and attend events like these. This is where we build relationships, network and grow.”

Hospitality trainer and workshop facilitator Bibi Farham highlighted the importance of laughter in a business environment.

She took the attendees through activities that left them virtually rolling on the floor with laughter.

The next session will be on Friday, 9 March at a cost of R250 a person; the venue is yet to be announced.
