Christmas came early for children at Sunnyside orphanage

The children had a sweet day - as sweet as the sweets they were treated with.

The children at Sunnyside Children’s Orphanage could not hide their excitement when they were spoilt rotten with toys, sweets, stationery and groceries on Friday.

The orphanage also got a new fridge and the tuck shop a new paint job and some brand new tiles.

All of these were the generous donations from several local businesses such as Mega Paint Mooikloof, CashBuild Centurion, Maghan 11, Game Brooklyn and Makro. The total project cost about R25 000.

The orphanage has two buildings catering for 16 children each.

“We are very happy, the donation came at the right time,” said home managing director Reagan Mashego.

“It is Christmas time and the children need presents. We are also thankful for the fridge as it will help a lot.”

Comply Works officials took some time off from work to spend with the underprivileged children.

And sales manager Shaun Pretorius said the children’s future must be secured.
