Mr and Miss Varsity College crowned

This year’s event had a different spin with the inclusion of the public vote category.

Mr and Miss Varsity College were crowned at a function at Madison avenue in the east of Pretoria on Friday.

Twenty students competed in this hotly contested and well-attended pageant hosted by Rick Alan.

First-year BCom student Claire Canavan and third-year BCom student Timothy Fraser were voted Miss and Mr Varsity College 2017 respectively.

College PR and event coordinator Natanya Nell said this year’s event had a different spin with the inclusion of a public vote.

Tshegofatso Monyepao and Kyle Krishnan were also crowned Miss and Mr Varsity College Pretoria Public Choice 2017 respectively.

Nell congratulated all the winners and declared the event a success.

Miss SA 2015 runner-up Mthimunye, who was a judge, said it was hard to choose a winner.

“All the contestants were phenomenal and well deserving of the title,” she said.

“Well done to everyone that helped to organise this event and pulling it off so well.”
